and research. Here is a checklist to help guide you through the career
decision-making process.

__ 3. Use resources from a Career Resource Center at a Vermont Department of Employment & Training office.

__ 5. Clarify skills, values, and interests in a self-assessment.
__ 6. Research career, occupational, and labor market information.
__ 7. Interview people who work in career areas of interest.
__ 8. “Shadow” someone working in the career field you’re exploring.
__ 9. Visit schools offering education or training in the career field you’ve identified.
__ 10. Take courses in your area of interest.
