VSAC Advantage Loan

By certifying a VSAC Advantage loan, you are certifying that:

Your institution is a U.S. Department of Education-eligible institution and participates in at least one Title IV loan program.
The student is enrolled or re-enrolling at least half-time at your institution and is eligible for federal student aid.
The student is matriculated or enrolled in approved preparatory course work.
The student is borrowing the maximum federal loans for which s/he is eligible.
The loan amount you certify does not exceed cost minus aid.
Your institution will notify VSAC immediately if the student no longer meets any of the eligibility requirements. (All pending disbursements will be cancelled.)

Electronically: Call 888-307-8722 to begin certifying electronically or, if you are already electronically certifying VSAC loans, simply use NCHELP Code 370 when certifying the VSAC Advantage loan.
Manually: Complete the VSAC Advantage Certification Form (PDF). (You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download this document.)

When requesting your certification, VSAC provides the requested loan amount and fee percentage (0% up to 5%). The fee (if applicable) is deducted from the loan amount. Students may request a loan amount that is equal to the amount needed, plus the fee that will be assessed. You may want to do the same when you certify loan amounts to ensure that the student obtains the needed funds. VSAC will disburse the lesser of your certified amount or the student's requested amount.
