Workshops for Adults

VSAC offers a variety of workshops for adults considering career, education, or life changes. They include:

  • Careers in Health Care VIT Workshop Learn how to pursue a wide variety of health care careers. This workshop will begin by guiding participants through the process of seeking further education to achieve career goals then feature speakers from area education programs, health professionals, and employers via Vermont Interactive Television (VIT). Information on educational opportunities will be provided. Registration is required.
    For registration, additional information and directions to VIT sites, contact VSAC at 800-642-3177 and ask for the Outreach Department.

  • Career Focus is for people who are considering a change of career or direction in their lives, but who are unsure of what they want to do or how to achieve their goals. The workshop covers assessment of individual interests, abilities, experiences and values, career exploration, decision-making, goal-setting, and available resources.

  • Learning Styles helps individuals determine how they learn best so they can make wise choices about further education options. Participants use the "Kaleidoscope Profile" to discover their learning styles and find ways to maximize education opportunities.

  • Non-Degree Grant Application Workshop The VSAC non-degree grant covers tuition for income-eligible adults returning to school or entering training to improve employability or encourage further study. Bring your 2006 tax return, and get free help completing application.

  • Personality & Career Choice incorporates Myers Briggs personality type testing to explore how personality type influences our career choices and satisfaction.

  • Returning to Learning is designed for people who have been out of school for awhile and are thinking about returning either for a degree or one course at a time. The workshop covers the nuts and bolts of college programs, special programs for adults, and other types of training programs. It also covers financial aid.

  • Scholarship Search for Adults guides individuals through the process of searching and applying for scholarships to help meet education expenses.

You must pre-register for these workshops.

Call VSAC at 800-642-3177 and ask for the Outreach Program. Workshops are designed for adults without a four-year college degree.
