Apply for a Loan Online or request Online Credit Pre-approval
Choosing the right education loan or combination of loans is an important first step in the loan application process. Students, parents, cosigners and endorsers can explore their options on the VSAC loan information pages.
We recommend customers begin the loan application or credit pre-approval process about four months before the student's classes begin. Starting the process early helps assure that loan funding is approved before classes begin.

- For PLUS loans, a credit evaluation is part of your online application process. Take a few minutes to complete your application online and you can confirm your credit eligibility at the same time.
- For Stafford loans, no credit check is required. You may submit one application to pursue subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans.
- Electronically signing is the fastest way to complete your online loan application or you can choose to print your application and mail it to VSAC.

- The earliest you can apply for a VSAC Advantage, Medical, or Law loan for summer 2008 and the 2008-2009 academic year is May 5th, 2008.
- With Online Credit Pre-approval, you may request a paper application be mailed to you.
- For PLUS loans, you can use Online Credit Pre-approval to check your credit eligibility without completing a new application.
