Paying for college

- Paying for College Guide – E-mail publications@vsac.org for our guide for students attending college in 2011–2012. The hands-on publication details the financial aid process: types of aid, the expected family contribution, tax incentives to help pay college costs, applying for aid, comparing financial aid award letters, and questions to ask of financial aid offices.

- Scholarships Booklet (PDF) - Open and view the attached PDF or e-mail for a copy of our scholarships booklet, with info on more than 150 scholarships available to Vermont residents for the 2010-2011 academic year. Booklet includes application forms for all VSAC-assisted scholarships. For students attending college in 2010–2011, the application deadline for all VSAC-administered scholarships will be March 5, 2010.

- The No-Nonsense Guide to Education Loans – This booklet on undergraduate education loans for students (and their families) is currently being updated for students who will be attending college in 2011–2012. Check back this fall for the straight scoop on federal education loans vs. private loans and what to consider in the process of financing a college education.
