Apply for a loan online/complete your promissory note
- Explore Your Options: Choosing the right education loan or combination of loans is an important first step in the loan application process. Explore your options on the VSAC loan information pages.
- Start Early: After you’ve received your financial award from your school, we recommend you begin the loan application or credit pre-approval process. Starting the process early helps assure that loan funding is approved before classes begin.
- Get Started: See the chart below to see if you can apply online and if credit pre-approval is needed.
Important: You may not apply for a loan or use credit pre-approval on behalf of another person. Doing so will result in an invalid application. This will delay loan approval.
| Loan Type | Credit Pre-Approval | Apply for a Loan |
|---|---|---|
| Stafford | No credit evaluation is required | Apply online: Submit one application to pursue subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loan.
|
| Parent PLUS & Grad PLUS | Use Online Credit Pre-approval if you’d like to confirm your credit eligibility before applying.
|
Apply online: A credit evaluation is part of your online application process. Complete your application online and you can confirm your credit eligibility at the same time.
